It’s been a, shall we say, INTERESTING season as we prepare for the holidays. Even with the challenges of receiving deliveries and heading out on buying trips to source our vintage treasures amid a pandemic, we’ve come home to our beautiful shops and a lovely and grateful clientele. That, of course, makes us more than grateful. It’s deeply touching. And so we’ve put extra care this year in the shops.
At our kitchen store – HGS Home Chef – we’ve received new cookware, gadgets and cookbooks giving our devoted customers fresh items to help them create meals at home as they hunker down. As the weather turns colder that feeling of comfort, warmth and good food is even more important. It’s wonderful to play a small part in that.
At our historic General Store we’ve been putting out Christmas and Hanukkah gifts, décor, cards and so much more, loading both floors of the store to create a winter solstice wonderland. The comments about the shop have been lovely to hear. Really, you have no idea what that means to ALL of us at BOTH shops. Mostly we are grateful for our customers’ kindness and respect regarding masks and social distancing. Good people, all.
Here’s a little slideshow to share a tiny bit of what’s happening in both stores…
